Here we are again. I have to say I do love this time of the month. This months reveal is brought to you by Linda of Linda Landig Jewelry.
Aren't these gorgeous? I did remember to get a picture BEFORE I completed my design this month.
For those of you who do not know orange is my favorite color. I only get to decorate with it this time of year and there are rarely components that use orange so I was extremely excited and in love with it. The other great part is that I had the exact matching seeds that have been waiting for just a component this special.
At first before I received it I thought I might do some bead embroidery , however Linda's glazing and colors are so perfect that I just couldn't cover any of it. On the cover of the newest Bead and Button magazine is a twisted herringbone using varying bead sizes that I thought would be perfect. As I always do I wanted a smaller chain so I used smaller beads.
I liked it but it just did not have enough. So it sat as I tried to figure out what I could add to give it the look I wanted. In the meantime I played with the colors and some other beads to create a matching bracelet. I had a design in mind but as I was stitching this is what I came up with.
I am having fun with it. It has the colors of just changing trees. So a funny thing happened when I was moving things around on my tray, I twisted the two ropes together a bit and it looked cool so I twisted them completely and I really like the look of it.
I did happen to run out of the green picasso 8/0's so I am waiting to order some to finish the rest of it and I am still trying to work out the connection.
I am so excited to see what everyone else has created. Hop on over to the Art Jewelry Elements blog to check them out.

Love that twisted herringbone Kristen...looking good and I look forward to seeing it completed.
ReplyDeleteReally love that twisted herringbone! Perfect colors!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I love your bead work
ReplyDeleteThe single twisted rope was neat but the double just seems to add that extra wow factor. I admire your patience in doing these stitches. Looks like the finished necklace will be wonderful

Exquisite use of color. Hope you share the finished piece. I envy your creative facility with the tiny beads.
ReplyDeleteLove the colour choices of your necklace, you always pick the perfect match! I really like the little piece too... looking forward to seeing them finished :)
ReplyDeleteAh, the evolution of an idea. I always wish they had better timing, rather than happening right when you should be finishing up. Hope you'll show off the finished piece in a future post!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! I must say I was looking forward to seeing what you created with your little beads. I love that twisted rope!!!
ReplyDeleteDefiantly a piece with wow factor Kristen! I love the look of the two ropes twisted together and oh the colours are so pretty!
ReplyDelete1. I adore that spiral stitch you did. 2. The little elements are yummy, and intriguing. 3. The first spiral was so structural and architectural - the double spiral was utterly different. I can't decide what I like more... Colors are perfect - very smooth and buttery, that gold!
ReplyDeleteI love where you are going with this! The double twisted rope really kicks it up a notch. Its going to be stunning (as usual). I look forward to seeing your finished necklace and the sweet bracelet.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photowalk of your creative process. I love the direction you are headed in with this piece and I can't wait to see the final project. I love the twisted herringbone (what a fun rope I have one on one of my beading grays right now as well!) and I love seeing them together !!
ReplyDeleteThis is really going to be gorgeous when finished. The colors are wonderful and I love that spiral twist. It's always fun for me to see what you do.
