This time I have a little something

Well I am back. (actually we got back on Friday but unpacking and laundry have gotten in the way) We had a wonderful time in Mystic, CT and it is official Michael and I have been happily married for 20 YEARS! Here's a pic of the happy and hot couple(sweaty I mean, geez get your head out of the gutter would you) It was very muggy and hot waiting for the train but the ride was so nice!
I will have to say I really don't feel any different than that girl who said 'I Do" (ok other than the aches and pains of age) and I am so happy that he also feels the same. I am so lucky and I wish this for all my friends it makes the roller coaster of like a lot easier to ride with a partner! ANYWAY This was taken on a steamboat ride on the Connecticut River. We took a steam train ride to the riverboat then back to the train. My sweet hubby upgraded us to the parlor car so we had the comfiest ride on the train! Here are a few more pics of the journey.
This is Gillette Castle and it has a cool story. While traveling through Europe Mr. Gillette liked the look of old ruined castles so when he came back he had one built to resemble them. Shelby and I love castles!
This is an opera house built to try and bring culture to the area but it also houses a general store, post office and I'm sorry I forget what else. I thought it looked so pretty right on the water!
And this is Derek on the steam train! He loved it! I would recommend this trip to anyone who goes there it was so well worth the money and it is the only one in the whole country!

And.....Wait for it.......
I GOT MY SILLY FEET IN THE OCEAN!!!!!!!!
This was at Ocean Beach Park. I was a nice beach and had a great view of the New London Ledge lighthouse. ( this is not a pic I took because it was overcast and I couldn't get a good pic)
And here is everyone else at the beach! Shelby did get a sunburn and a seagull stole part of her sandwich but overall I was so happy to feel, hear and smell the ocean waters!
This was such a great vacation and we all think we should definitely go again! In fact we may go in the fall if we can manage it!

On the beady front I was hoping to have a picture of a finished pairing that was Mystic inspired but it is just not turning out right so it is back to the beginning.  Don't you just hate when your mind and the beads won't cooperate!

Hugs to all

Kristen

Well I got nothin'

So this is a post of nothing.  Seriously I got nothing to post.  Ok well maybe not nothing, so I have been beading but I have ripped it apart so many times that I now have to make a trip to Dick's to get more fireline.  We are also getting a new air mattress for Derek because we are going camping on Tuesday to Mystic CT.  Michael and I will have been married for 20 years ( can you believe it, how time does fly )on the 28th.  As you have seen we do almost everything as a family so we will be taking this trip to celebrate as a family.  We have some special things planned (even a trip to a bead shop! yippie) which I hope to get lots of pictures to post for you!  I hope all of my blogging friends have a nice week with no migraines, breakdowns, sicknesses, broken rods, or job woes!  (You all know I am thinking of you I hope) I will be packing for the next two days (I have to pick which pairings I want to take of course)  so I will hopefully have something to post next week!

Always believe
Kristen

PS  In case any of you think I will ever reach my goal I have to tell you that I bought 3 new shirts since my last finished pairing and I still have others not paired (Not to mention that I have an entire fall and winter wardrobe to contend with)  I may need a 12 step program!

Windy Rock Mobile

This is how our family camps.

I don't think when we register the owners realize how big our tent is. It is 18'x10' and we always end up changing sites when we get there because of its size.
The reason I called it Windy Rock Mobile is that it is a home away from home for us. Our house is called Windy Rock because it is located at the beginning of the Genesee Valley in the Finger Lakes region of NY and it is always windy and the soil is a rocky clay hence the name Windy Rock. I always wanted to start a quilting/cross stitch shop with this name because I like it so much but now beading is my passion and I love making jewelry!

You have already seen a pic of my sweet Shelby and my cute little Derek so here is a pic of my hubby Michael!

This was taken while we were on a Trolley Tour of the Delaware Gap. What a beautiful place to visit! The mountians and river are so spectacular and the Delaware Gap KOA was a great place to stay. The manager Mary and her two kids were so sweet to us. Her son DJ and daughter Skyler were so good to Derek. I find it funny that an 18 year old can so enjoy a almost 5 year old. Mary is supposed to send me a pic of them and I hope to post it when she does.
I did work on some bracelets but I haven't had time to take pictures yet. I have laundry and a family of sickies to tend to first!

A camping we will go

We are going camping for the first time this year! Thought I would post a quick note while I'm waiting for Shelby to finish her shower. We are going to the Deleware Gap in Pennsylvania I hear it is beautiful.

Send Big Cyber Hugs to Nicole at Beadwright
Her brother is in the hospital and she is on her way to him. I know how hard it is to be far away when the people you love are sick. I wish her all the best!
