Okay I am not just good at it.......I am GREAT!

I know from this title you think this is about tutting my own horn........you are soooo wrong.  This is about my day yesterday.

Woke up in the morning asked my sweet hubby what he wanted for lunch (PBJ is standard) sent him off to work and began planning my day.  I needed to go to the store and get the gifts my kids had decided to get him for his birthday and shop for whatever cake he wanted for his birthday (which I will tell you is March 8th) He called later in the morning....

I asked...
"What kind of cake would you like for tomorrow?"
his reply...
"Tomorrow, Why Tomorrow?"
my answer...
"Your Birthday"
his answer
"Umm it's Today"

If you could have seen me you would have seen an instant basket case.  No joke I could have sworn it was on Wednesday.  I looked at the calender and planned accordingly.  Well let me tell you after a river of tears and "oh you so suck" comments to myself I hiked up my big girl panties and shifted gears to make sure the rest of the day was good for him.  I made prime rib dinner and he had is favorite warm chocolate chip cookies and got in some good teasing (as he informed me I had everyone at lunch laughing....OH great).

So hence the title I am not just good at making life interesting in this house I am GREAT at it!

Hugs and Blessings

  1. Happy Birthday to your hubby! Yesterday would have been my mother's birthday also. Her 100th if she was still with us! So, hooray for March 8th birthdays! Oh, and I often think I have more days/weeks than I have, even when I look at the calendar.

  2. HA! Good one. One you will talk about until birthday celebrations become less important, when you are between now and old and gray. (I think they become important AGAIN when you are older.

No matter, a little blip in the radar and you recovered nicely and he certainly must know how much you love him.

But I gotta tell you, you really missed the ball. You need quicker comebacks. My reply would have been...that was a test. I wondered if you remembered. ~lol~

Why not fool him and celebrate again tonight and blow his mind!

  3. LOL! At least he told you instead of letting you have it on the day after. I use to do the same thing for my husband's birthday until he finally just told me it was the 2nd not the first. So to remember, we got married on his birthday so I wouldn't forget...I still sometimes forget so he had a new ring made with the dates engraved inside. Now I can't

  4. At least that's a day you can laugh about! It's funny how the calendar sometimes tricks us.

  5. You just made my day...as I read this a day later. Maybe you remember where I was going today? I was so nervous, I dated everthing...paperwork & the check for my co-pay
APRIL 10. I know just how you feel.

  6. I don't see the problem...your gift to him was a "get out of jail free" card that he can use if he ever forgets YOUR birthday. For a guy...that's like GOLD!

  9. Tell him you didn't _forget_ his birthday, you were just extending it a little bit. :)

  10. What a sweet story, it really is!

My birthday just passed in November, and it was somewhat a big one, 30! All day long my hubby never said a word and I knew he had forgotten. Towards the end of the workday, one of our drivers comes to the office and asked me how it feels to be 30. My husband let out a few expletives and said " I knew there was some significance to the 1st, I just couldn't figure it out!"

It happens to the best of us!

  11. Aw, don't feel bad. You had the plans and everything in your mind and as they say, it's the thought that counts.

We all have had days that we thought were either a different date or a different day, such as a Saturday feeling like a Sunday. Heck I'm still having trouble remembering to write 2011 on my checks instead of 2010 ! :D
