I know and I am so sorry I am late to the party. Could this be considered fashionably late? No probably not. I have still been totally fighting this *hanging on forever, I am so sick of this* cold. Really this one is worse than the Beadfest Flu (although that was an awesome place to catch the flu).
Anyway....It is that time again when I tell you that it was Diana's turn this month to offer up a component to the Art Jewelry Elements members as well as 3 lucky winners. I think we are all winners when we get to play with anything from Suburban Girl Studios!!!! I don't think she has created anything that hasn't made me want to run full sprint to her house and jack it! Really I love them that much!

These are what she offered up!
And this is the one I received....
Love them!!! You don't have to tell me I know you do. So here is the part where I totally disappoint myself and all of you by saying that I did not get it completed. Not without trying mind you. I must have thought of a bazillion ways to display this gorgeous button but they either didn't pan out, I didn't have enough of a color of seed I was looking for or......you found me totally drained of energy and napping.
I did finally just sit and start playing and you know what? I love what happened. this is the bezeled pendant I created and my hubs sweetly named "Gold Dust"
Then on to the chain. Well I did finally decide on a CRAW rope (which you know is one of my favorites but should be called CRAWL rope because it literally goes together at a snails pace!) This rope is a free tutorial called Craw Swirl by Heather Colin that was created because my friend Shirley asked her a question!
So this is what I plan to finish up this weekend (if it stops raining and I can get the boys out of the house) after I put out my autumn decorations.
(since I could not get every one's addresses to post go directly to Art Jewelry Elements and you will see the list!)
Hugs and Blessings to you all!!!!!

Beautiful Kristen, I love how you framed the bead!! Wonderful design!!
ReplyDeleteConsidering that you have been sick, you got a lot done. The bezel you created is so pretty and even the toggle is seed stitched. I'm so impressed!
ReplyDeleteHi Kristen,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Gold Dust is a great name for this piece I like the the hubs takes an interest in your beaded creations. I wish I had a good old house wives remedy for you to take to kick that cold to the curb, but alast I do not. I need to try the spiral CRAW after seeing yours and Shirley's it is a beautiful stitch.

Beautiful! And thank you so much for the link to the tutorial. :)
ReplyDeleteKristen! Just found your lovely blog via the link you left in OTTBS. Love your writing style almost as much as I love your beading style.
ReplyDeleteWill be back to visit more often! x
It might not be finished, but it still looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteWe are going to put your hubby on the official name club! I love Gold Dust!
ReplyDeleteI'm sooo glad you bezeled it, I was wondering what it would look like, and it's gorgeous. I think you picked the perfect rope choice, cause, you know, CRAW is my fav technique at the mo...:)
I love your necklace. I'll have to try that tutorial. I hope you're feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised you got anything done since you have been sick. It looks like a fabulous piece in the making. It will be beautiful when it's finished.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better quickly!
I am always so amazed at how seed beads transform a piece. Granted, it's a cool piece, but its so completely different in this context! Lovely work!
ReplyDeleteOh wow! So gorgeous and I love the name gold dust. Brilliant! The bezel is really cool and the rope looks like you're almost finished...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful framing for that charm/pendant. Love the "simplicity" of the design.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you're still under the weather. :( Really, really hope that nasty cold lets go of you soon.
ReplyDeleteLove your creation and think your hubby is very imaginative to come up with such a perfect name.
Take care and get all the rest you need to chase that cold away. :)
If blogger would let me reply to each of your comments I would!!! Thank you all so much for your support!
