Echo Creative Club - October and Time to Stitch hop

Yes this post is a 2 for post!  I really need to remember when I say yes to check my calender first!  LOL

Echo Creative Club Reveal!

I know you all have been here throughout the year as I have participated in Jeannie's amazing club.  I can not believe there is only 2 months left in this Journey for me and I so wish it could go on forever.  I have been so inspired by each and every bead or pendant she has sent.  This is what she sent to me this month...

Oh she is such a little sneak because she made these just for me when we were discussing challenging her with colors.  I love the blend of dark chocolate and mustard.  I have to tell you this was more of a challenge than I thought it would be.  I thought I had the colors to match...nope.  I fixed that issue then I thought I had the perfect design.....you guessed it....Nope.  Last week I scrapped the whole thing and if you work with seeds you know that is not generally something you want to do but it just didn't feel right.  Then it hit me......Russian Spiral.  This is my go to chain for alot of projects.  I love the feel and the flow and I really like how fast I can whip it out.  LOL
 Here she is....

Now I do not as of yet have a name for her or a clasp that I am pleased with but I can not wait for that to show itself so that I can wear this with my NEW mustard colored shirt!  Yep I had to run right out and get one to match.  You knew I would!
Please check out all of our amazing club members creations and stop by and give a shout out to Jeannie!

Time 2 Stitch Hop

Christine of One Kiss Creation and Therese of Therese's Treasures challenged beaders to use 2 stitches this time around (I missed the first hop)  St Petersburg Chain and Right Angle Weave (RAW)
I thought this would be fun and easy to participate in but boy it was a lot harder than I thought.  Not the stitches just finding the time in the many (too many) commitments that I made in this month.  However I did find a way to incorporate a few things and make this commitment.

I have not made a true St Petersburg chain before and boy was it hard to find a simple pattern for it.  I finally did and I made Golden Treasure.....

Yes this was my ECC reveal from last month  Go me!  LOL  It was a fun and rather easy stitch to learn.  I liked the flow and the softness of the chain.

Now for those who know me should now I love me some RAW.  It has so much versatility and although it does take time and alot of thread to CRAW (cubic) I do love it.  Here is what I made last month with Diana's Art Jewelry Elements hop.

And this is what I am working on right now but it is basically a surprise so this is all you get.

Please enjoy hopping along!

Hugs and blessings

  1. Well Girly you asked for a stone ground mustard colored Gin Blossom and I delivered and so did you. I love the little transparent beads just sticking out of the spiral chain saying, "hey look at me." I just want to run my fingers all over it. You do beautiful work and it's been my pleasure having you in the club this year.

  2. Kristen, you have so much going on here and each is a raving beauty! I love the drops coming off your russian spiral for the ECC piece. The whole piece is beautiful, but that is a great touch!
Your St. Petersburg is Gorgeous! I love your color choices...it looks beautiful and has a great feel to it. Jeans or Dressy kind of piece...perfect :-)
Now you and Therese have me intrigued with CRAW, but I barely am getting the hang of RAW so I can't jump into it yet. But If I can make a piece anywhere close to the loveliness of yours, I will have to put it on my list of things to try. Just beautiful...and it looks sturdy too! Thanks so much for joining this hop :-)

  3. Ok, you really showed off that pendant for ECC, my friend! Love the way it turned out, and Chocolate Toffee springs to mind....
The St. Pete is beautifully soft and elegant. Well done!
I was also going to show of one of my many new CRAW's, but I decided I needed to make a new bracelet. Luckily, it worked out with another need as well. :)

  5. Hi Kristen,
Your piece for the ECC challenge is gorgeous I love your Russian spiral rope nice touch using the drops and the colors match perfectly.

Thank you for joining in on mine and Christine's challenge the pieces you did are gorgeous. I love the St. Petersburg rope so light and pretty. Your CRAW is awesome I need to try that effect. You are right about CRAW being thread thirsty. LOL I hope you join in on the fun with us for the next ATTS challenge.

  17. I'm going to have to learn Russian spiral; I can't imagine anything could be more perfect with that focal. (Maybe Therese and Christine can add that stitch to their next challenge!) Your Golden Treasure necklace is one of the most elegant St. Petersburg designs I have ever seen (and I looked at A LOT when I was learning that stitch for this challenge!)

  26. Wow - the texture in those necklaces is so awesome, as are the colors! My love of Jeannie's beads and pendants goes without saying, but made even more beautiful with your handiwork! Great job!

  27. The Russian spiral was the perfect choice for Jeannie's gin blossom ... the golden drops bring out the mustard color beautifully! I also love the pieces you created for ATTS2 ... the St. Petersburg chain is as elegant as the CRAW chain is hearty. Can't wait to see the end result of the sneak peek ... =)

  29. Some gorgeous work as ever, Miss Kristen! I love those colors in Jeannie's pendant. It is amazing to me how different the same design can look when done in a different palette. That mustard color would throw me for a loop. Yellows are hard for me. For a name... how about "Poupon You". ;-) HAHAHA! LOL! Just kidding! Actually, the first name that came to mind was "Rustling Whispers" because the colors brought to mind the piles of leaves that are everywhere I look right now. Enjoy the day. Erin
