Now there is a key word in this challenge that I totally failed! Time to Stitch! I have been trying but between my bit of beading ADD and all the challenges of spring I just haven't been able to finish anything. Here is a look at my tray(s)

See I told you! I am still working on a square stitched rope. I know it was supposed to be a flat stitch but you know I had to change it up a bit. I will tell you though it is taking f-o-r-e-v-e-r! I was going to start a flat Cellini (see changing it up) but I only have three rows and I am not sure I like what it is turning into.
If you didn't get a chance to see it I did work on a russian spiral which is my favorite stitch and made a little tutorial on the Art Jewelry Elements blog yesterday. I used twins in the one. I hope you like it.

Your bead tray is full of great beads. I know what you mean about not enough beads - especially when I try a new pattern and I'm usually just a few short! Hope you get time to finish.

ReplyDeleteI'm so stunned by your WIP trays -- they're so beautifully neat and well organized! My working surfaces look like a cat came in and threw a fit...And thank you for the fantastic tutorial on using twins in Russian spiral! That stitch gave me such fits to figure out in the first place that I can't wait to go back and try it again, this time with the extra flair of twins!

I have to ask - did you organize your bead trays of unfinished and current projects, because they are so neat and orderly! My unfinished projects (granted - no bead weaving, just wire-wrapping) are all placed in a ceramic bowl I bought from Jennifer Jangles. I figured if I put them in a beautiful bowl, I can leave them out and call them artwork!
ReplyDeleteI did see your Russian Spiral tutorial on the Art Jewelry elements blog - if I ever do start to bead weave, it would be with a spiral - it looks fantastic and I especially love the colors of the beads!
My bead trays NEVER look like yours. They are usually a cross between a fury and a tempest. Thanks for pointing me to your beautiful post on AJE and the Russian spiral tutorial. I've been covered up the past few days, and I would not have wanted to miss it!

ReplyDeleteUmm, I'm envious at how organized your bead trays are, mine are always, well more chaotic then organized! :) Both of the sets of stitches we had to choose from are tedious! Keep plugging away, the result will be well worth the time!
