Hosted by the lovely Rita of Jewel School Friends.
I was completely thrilled to be one of the lucky participants for this challenge. I am a huge fan of Sue of Suebeads. She is not only a friend but a very talented artist. And lets face it these chicklet beads are so fun and happy who wouldn't be excited?
Well I wanted something special to showcase this little treasure so it sat and sat until it started talking. I know you have heard me say this before but it is so true for me. I put so many options together but unless the bead is chatting up a storm it just doesn't fit. So like I said it sat and sat. In fact it sat until Friday. I had a few other pieces to complete while I was waiting for it to get chatty. Darn thing just wouldn't speak I tell ya.
So I had to finish up a necklace from the Art Jewelry Elements Component of the Month that Linda had hosted because I finally knew the right way to clasp it.
Dont you know that little chicklet began screaming at me! I knew just what to do!
I loved how this turned out and to be honest since I am going to BeadFest in August I am getting a whole strand to play with because I can see a bracelet full of them.
Now you all should know I have to remake this. And this is why...
Did you see that thread!!!!!! You should have heard the words when I found it!!! (Well probably not cuz some of you think I am too nice to say what came out of my mouth)
I will remake it and wear it because it is just so precious! Now I want you to go check out what everyone else made with theirs!!! I am so excited to hop!

Bahahaha!! YES, I can hear you now, yelling about that thread! This is just a totally adorable bracelet girl! It looks so very happy. Now, the big question...do you have a tshirt with sunflowers on it? :)
ReplyDeleteNo but I have a plain bright yellow shirt that rocks the set!!!!!!!
DeleteI love those pieces and that bracelet is so dang Happy. Love the pattern you used and the way you used the chicklet. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!!!
DeleteSo pretty. Amazing use of bead. Love it
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Deletesuch a summery bracelet .Its' so very pretty The colors contest perfectly.
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteBoth of your pieces are beautiful!! They make me want to go outside and find some wildflowers.
ReplyDeleteFlowers should always make you smile!
DeleteI love the happy flowers with the chicklet. It's perfect. Well, except for that bleeped thread. Which I'm sure lots of people, me included, would never have noticed if you didn't put a big arrow next to it. But you'd know and it would drive you batty. I know that feeling.
ReplyDeleteLololol. Well I do have a knack for pointing out my flaws!
DeleteHi Kristen,
ReplyDeleteThe sunflower clasp was the right choice for the necklace which by the way is awesome! I love the bracelet the Chiclet bead fits with the sunflowers. Now all you need is cute little sunflower earrings and you are set for Bead Fest.
Therese
Thanks girl! I generally don't wear earrings any more but we will see.
DeleteLove both of these! Such talent. ~~T
ReplyDeleteI saw this design over on FB! absolutely LOVE what you did for your chicklet design! just perfect and fun!
ReplyDeleteA sweet piece. The flowers remind me of our state flower which is the sunflower. I know the feeling of having to redo a piece because I missed a bead or some such. It really is frustrating.
ReplyDeleteOh I hate it when something like that happens. I just love the flowers with the chicklet. They are just perfect. So fun !
ReplyDeleteWhat a glorious set, so full of the promise of summer a lazy sun soaked flower filled days. I am so glad that bead demanded to be heard, it knew where it wanted to be. Beautiful design, awesome showcase of the chicklet!
ReplyDeleteThat set is adorable. I love your designs. I must say, I couldn't face redoing that whole bracelet...
ReplyDeleteSummertime and sunflowers in France, Van Gogh... those were my first thoughts! What a ♥ beautiful ♥ bracelet. Have fun with your new whole strand as well.
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! I saw your necklace on Facebook yesterday with Linda's component and thought it was so sweet...this bracelet is just perfect! I can see why that bead started screaming at you :) I also have to say when Sue first started listing chicklets, I bought TONS of them...I mean super greedy stock piling and my first thought was several in a bracelet...I have used them in many designs (several gifted to me, so I've only used a few I purchased) and I have yet to make that original bracelet idea I had...they are so inspiring I keep getting design distracted!
ReplyDeleteI love how you picked up the flowers and continued the theme. What a great bracelet and set.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful pieces! Love how you incorporated the Chicklet!
ReplyDeleteHow cute and summery! I love it!

Love your pieces! They are so happy! How are you not smile when you see them! Outstanding showcase of that green chicklet!
ReplyDeleteI adore sunflowers! I've never seen anything like this. Is it a special stitch to make those sunflowers? I'd love to learn! Great way to use the chicklet. Love it.
ReplyDeleteYour bracelet is brilliant Kristen! I literally dropped my jaw and now I have a big smile on my face!. I love thinking how 3 of us beady pals are all represented in your gorgeous necklace and bracelet set. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteDeliciously brilliantly beautiful! You did a fantastic job and frankly - I wanna know how on EARTH you make those little sunflowers! My bff LOVES sunflowers and i'd love to make something like this for her. She'd flip! =) GREAT JOB

I've got to tell you, I wouldn't have seen that little thread in a hundred years of admiring that bracelet! What I DID see was some truly delightful jewelry! ~Sharyl
ReplyDeleteStunning! Love those flowers! How about a tut?
ReplyDeleteYour bracelet is fabulous, I absolutely love the flowers. And the necklace is fabulous too.
ReplyDeleteI love it , I love it.
The necklace is perfect with the flower clasp. I love the bracelet and I would have screamed when I found the thread too. I hate it when I do that!
ReplyDeleteOhhh I love love love this jewelry ensemble!! I've been following you on AJE -- from your reveal to your tutorial (just didn't comment yet...but will! :) and I'm so impressed with your beadwork and gifts and generosity. I can't believe you created this bracelet starting on Friday! Yee-haw! That is talent. Wow! It's adorable, and the bracelet & necklace is a gorgeous set. I love the flowers, the colorways, the joy & feeling of life & love radiating from your art work! Wonderful, and inspiring. (And the flower clasp is perfect too!)
ReplyDeleteFabulous!! LOVE this amazing, floral set!
Thank you for sharing your art with us! How lucky we are xxoo
Rita
Oh, striking colors. Simple and I love the creativity. With the bead weaving.
ReplyDeleteHi Kristen, Your bracelet is awesome! It makes such a perfect set with your gorgeous necklace. Well done.
ReplyDeleteOH Kristen! Your bracelet & your necklace are AMAZING! Your beading is superb except of course that one little thread :)))) I know what you mean. It would drive me crazy after I screamed, hollered, cursed & CRIED! The flowers are so summery!
ReplyDeleteSunny sunflowers - how utterly beautiful and perfect for Summer . . . of course it'll be a great pick-me-up to wear in the Winter too. As for that little slip of the thread - been there, done that a million times and each time curse myself royally. Amazing how it can happen and not be noticed until the piece is done !
